Hey guys. So, here is Jen's book as it is right now. I've been sitting on it in this state for a few days now. It's tentatively "almost" finished, but here's where I need your guys' opinions!
I know it should be a decision I should probably make on my own, but I'm kind of stuck and want your opinions. I had originally watercolored her skin but didn't like how it turned out, so I went over it with a coat of white gouache. I intended on going back over it with a different color wash - what, I don't know - but the longer I deliberate the more this current "look" grows on me. I was a little dubious because the first words out of my friend's mouth were "Avatar" and "zombie", both of which were not words I wanted to be synonymous with this piece.
So, what do you guys think? Leave it as it is or go ahead and give it a color wash?

I know how you can sometimes get stuck on a piece. you can stare at it for hours and just dont see it anymore.
I think maybe if you just change the lilac lips in red, the face will lift up. (the white and lilac make her look frozen/dead)
i like it, she makes me think of a warrior- like character or something else fantasy. makes me curious about the rest of the drawing.

just as i like that reference photo, though i do look like a adolescent drug addict :S
so if you turned me into a zombie, it could be an improvement :D
Maybe it helps if you add your selfportrait to it?
